Am I a high-risk person?
Your risk is significantly or very significantly increased in certain situations:
- Colon cancer is present in one or more members of your immediate family (parents, siblings, children),
or in a member of your immediate family under the age of 50;
- you are a carrier of a hereditary mutation responsible for Lynch syndrome (also known as Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colon Cancer) or
Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. These mutations are rare: they account for only 1% to 3% of colon cancers;
- You have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis;
- You have had colon cancer before;
- You have previously had polyps in your colon.
In these cases, Colotest is not suitable for you: you should follow a specific screening plan. Discuss it with your doctor.
